Does LegalForce guarantee payment?
We give Legal Employers a series of tools to manage the work being done by Legal Professionals. If the time is being logged correctly and the Legal Professional is filling out accurate work descriptions, we assume the work logged is valid and bill the Legal Employer.

How much does the work cost?
The hourly rate listed in a Legal Professional profile is the total rate that you pay as a Legal Employer. We have already calculated the LegalForce fees into this amount. If you agreed to a fixed price job, the total amount agreed is your only cost.

How do I pay LegalForce?
Most Legal Employers pay LegalForce via credit card. For larger size Legal Employers, such as multinational companies and 50 lawyer+ size law firms, you can fill out a LegalForce Credit Line form and request payment by invoice. This way, LegalForce can bill you through an invoice on a weekly or monthly basis for payment. Legal Employers will only receive one invoice from LegalForce regardless of how many Legal Professionals were hired through LegalForce. There is a 4% surcharge for all transactions billed through the LegalForce Credit Line as LegalForce will need to pay contractors before invoicing a Legal Employer that has been approved using the LegalForce Credit Line.
Alternatively, if you prefer to pay via ACH or wire, please contact LegalForce customer service to discuss your request, and we can make alternate arrangements for you.

Is this outsourcing?
Not Exactly. When companies "outsource," they typically dump the project on an outside contractor and expect all the management to be done by someone else. At LegalForce, we believe Legal Employers and Providers get the best results when they collaborate frequently throughout the project and work just as local employees work; communicating daily and reviewing work together.

How do I get billed by LegalForce?
Billing is easy on LegalForce. When Legal Professionals log in time through the hourly system, LegalForce Team keeps track of every hour worked. After a five day review period at the end of each week, we bill you and charge your credit card for all approved hours tracked in our system. For Fixed Price projects, we charge your credit card the day the assignment is complete.

How does LegalForce make money?
LegalForce takes 10% of the total charge rate and the rest of the payment is guaranteed to the Legal Professional or Organization.

Do I have to pay upfront of pay when the assignment is done?
With hourly projects, you are billed at the end of every week for the previous week’s work and your credit card is charged automatically. With Fixed Price jobs, you pay when you end the assignment. We also give you the option to pay in several installments if the Fixed Price job may take a long time to complete.

What if there is a dispute?
It's rare, but sometimes there are disagreements between Legal Employers and Legal Professionals and there is a dispute over the number of hours worked. We encourage employers and professionals to work out the problem, but LegalForce will step in and moderate if there is a need. LegalForce will not evaluate the quality of work, but will focus on a careful review of all time logged to ensure the professional was working on your job and following all policies and best practices. Fixed price jobs are paid solely at the Legal Employer’s discretion.

Can I limit the number of hours worked?
Certainly. You can set a weekly limit on the number of hours that any Legal Professional works for you. You can also modify this limit at any time if you and the professional change the work load or expectations. You can review hours worked over the limit, but they will not be billed to you.

Do you have a referral program?
Yes. When a referred user earns or spends $1,000 on LegalForce, we'll give you $50.
