David R. Clark is a solo practitioner in Prattville, Alabama. His practice focus centers on family law (to include uncontested and contested divorce, adoption, child custody, child support, visitation, among others), banruptcy (to include Chapter 7 and Chapter 13), and criminal defense. Mr. Clark is a member of the CJA Panel for the Middle District of Alabama. Additionally, he was recently selected to fill in as the Millbrook Municipal Court Judge due to a conflict with the court. Mr. Clark is also a member of the Alabama Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.
Mr. Clark has served nearly 5 years on active duty with the U.S. Army as a JAG officer (military lawyer). As a JAG, Mr. Clark prosecuted over 80 courts-martial to include murder, rape, child pornography, theft, drug distribution, among others. Mr. Clark deployed twice. While deployed in 2007, Mr. Clark assisted the Iraqi government in setting up courts established to prosecute terrorists. By the end of Mr. Clark's deployment, well over 200 terrorists had been prosecuted in these courts. Mr. Clark is currently in the U.S. Army Reserves and serves as a criminal defense attorney.
Mr. Clark was also an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Alabama for 3 years. As an Assistant Attorney General, Mr. Clark represented the State of Alabama in death penalty cases post-conviction. Mr. Clark litigated capital post-conviction matters in counties throughout the State as well as in the Northern and Middle Districts of Alabama. Further, Mr. Clark was assigned death penalty cases on appeal in the Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals, the Supreme Court of Alabama, as well as the Supreme Court of the United States.
Mr. Clark graduated from Auburn University - Montgomery (B.S., summa cum laude, 1997) and the University of Alabama School of Law (J. D., 2000). He was admitted to the Alabama State Bar as well as the Middle and Northern Districts of Alabama in 2000. Mr. Clark was admitted to the 11th Circuit in 2007.
