In assessing a colleague, a fellow criminal defense attorney typically asks himself/herself: "If I were accused of a criminal offense, would I hire this lawyer to represent me?" An affirmative answer signifies perhaps the highest form of endorsement.
As to Lisa Ludwig, my answer to that question is unequivocally "Yes."
I am pleased to post this unsolicited endorsement of Ms. Ludwig, with whom I have co-counseled in a major capital case, cooperated in others in which we were mutually involved, and collaborated on educational and political activities of the Oregon Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.

I have known Mr. Doherty since before our mutual attendance at Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon, as we both hail from the Great State of Montana. I remained in Oregon after law school, and although we have not had much contact since then, I have closely followed his career.
