The Top Law Firm selection process by LegalForce Media Publications uses a rigorous multi-step selection methodology. The objective of the Top Law Firm selection process is to create a credible, comprehensive and diverse listing of Top Law Firms that can be used as a resource to assist attorneys and consumers in the search for legal counsel. All nominations are confidential and anonymous.

While we make the process simple to nominate and vote, it is of the highest importance to us to maintain the integrity of the Top Law Firm voting process. During the entire month of January 2009, after the voting period is closed on December 31, 2008, the LegalForce Media Publication team will conduct detailed audits of top vote earners to ensure that voting was conducted by peer attorneys, paralegals, and clients. Any nominee or supporter of a nominee attempting to systematically undermine the Top Law Firm voting process will result in disqualification from consideration for the 2008 Top Law Firm recognition.

To ensure the integrity of our Top Law Firm voting process, here are rules which are enforced by LegalForce Media Publications. We ask that each of these rules be strictly adhered to by both nominees and those persons inviting others to vote for a nominee.

After a careful review of top vote receivers as of December 31, 2008, a formalized Review Process will be undertaken between January 1, 2009 and January 31, 2009.

The number of votes received during the nomination period does not guarantee final selection as a 2008 Top Law Firm.

The following Rules will apply in selecting the final winners:

1. There is only 1 Top Law Firm in the United States for 2008 award for each Area of Law.
   1 lawyer from each City, State, and Area of Law will get a Top Law Firm award for their jurisdiction. To be eligible to be a candidate for the 1 Top Law Firm in the United States, you must be a top law firm in each of the lower jurisdictions as well.
2. Scoring of votes received will be as followings :
   • Votes by members and associates of the same firm will count for ½ point.
   • Votes by members and associates of other firms will count as 1 point.
   • Votes from outside counsel and clients will count 2 points
   • Votes from unrecognized or unverifiable emails (e.g., gmail) will count as 1/10 points after random identification audits to verify authenticity of votes.

Interviews and phone conversations with top vote leaders will be conducted before giving out final awards.
