Steven K. Gerber joined the firm in 1992 and practices in the Philadelphia office’s Subrogation & Recovery Department. Steve devotes his practice to the prosecution of complex large property loss subrogation matters, including actions arising from fires, building collapses, water damage and product failures. Steve has achieved subrogation recoveries on behalf of clients in scores of actions in numerous jurisdictions including Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont, Delaware, Washington, D.C., Virginia, Ohio, Illinois, Wisconsin, Missouri, North Dakota and Louisiana.
Steve is a member of the American and Pennsylvania bar associations, and serves on the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Federal Courts Committee. He is also a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and the National Fire Protection Association. Steve has been rated "AV" by Martindale-Hubbell's peer review rating system.
Steve is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He is also admitted to the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania and the District of New Jersey. Steve regularly serves as an arbitrator in the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas.
Steve serves on the advisory board of the Homeless Advocacy Project (HAP), a legal aid project of the Philadelphia Bar Association, where Steve formerly served on the board of directors.
Steve earned his bachelor of arts degree from Trinity College in 1987 following which he taught high school English at an independent school in northern New Jersey. Steve earned his law degree from the College of William and Mary in 1992, where he was active in Moot Court and was a member of the Moot Court Board.
Steve and his wife Sue, a middle school teacher, live together with their three daughters in Villanova, Pennsylvania, where Steve is actively involved in the community. In 2007 Steve was elected to a four year term as a School Director on the Radnor Township School Board. Steve currently chairs the School District's policy committee and vice-chairs the facilities committee. Steve is also a member of the Radnor Township Parks and Recreation Board, and the boards of the Radnor Educational Foundation and the Radnor Soccer Club.
