Spike is a Co-Chair of the firm's Litigation Department and a member of the firm's Partner Board. Spike represents companies in product liability, general business and health law cases.

Representation of a manufacturer with over 100 divisions and subsidiaries in a variety of products liability cases throughout the country involving claims of personal injury and other damages from the use of their products
Representation of several manufacturers in a series of products liability cases throughout the country involving claims of fire damage from their "non-combustible" insulation
Representation of a manufacturer in products liability class-action lawsuits involving claims that their product injured servicemen when used by the U.S. Government in Viet Nam (Agent Orange)
Representation of major regional health system involving arbitration among three joint venturers regarding ownership, control and management rights over three hospitals
Representation of several manufacturers arising from claims of injury brought by insulation workers throughout the country due to exposure to the manufacturers' insulation product (asbestos)
Spike is listed in the 2008 edition of Best Lawyers in America® in the area of Medical Malpractice Law. He has been named several times amongst the "Best of the Bar" by the Kansas City Business Journal; most recently in 2007. Spike was also selected for inclusion in the 2005 2006, and 2007 issues of Missouri & Kansas "Super Lawyers®" magazine, featuring the top 5% of attorneys in Missouri and Kansas. He was also honored in 2000 as one of ten "Lawyers of the Year" by Missouri Lawyers Weekly.
