Ryan A. Loosvelt's Summary
Ryan A. Loosvelt is the senior associate of Duane Morris' Las Vegas office. Mr. Loosvelt practices in the areas of civil and commercial litigation with an emphasis on business litigation. His practice includes, but is not limited to, business torts, contract disputes, construction law, insurance coverage, products liability and defamation law, and he has both prosecuted and defended complex litigation matters involving business, construction and environmental issues. As a law student, he helped prosecute securities class actions and shareholder derivative suits among other matters. Mr. Loosvelt additionally practices in the area of intellectual property litigation involving matters such as cybersquatting, trademark infringement, unfair competition and unfair trade practices.
Mr. Loosvelt manages and oversees his clients' needs outside the realm of litigation as well, providing his clients with a full-service relationship. He coordinates with the vast community of Duane Morris attorneys to provide his clients a broad range of services, including copyright, trademark and patent issues, corporate consulting and other business-related issues, franchising and licensing, and bankruptcy-related matters, among other areas. Mr. Loosvelt's clients include casinos, national and local businesses, general contractors, insurance companies, and internet startup companies.
Mr. Loosvelt is admitted to practice law in Nevada in both state and federal courts and is also admitted to practice law in California. He is a member of the State Bar of Nevada, the State Bar of California, the American Bar Association, the Clark County Bar Association and the Association of Defense Counsel of Northern California and Nevada. Mr. Loosvelt is a member of the State Bar of Nevada's Business Law Section and Gaming Law Section, and a member of the American Bar Association's Section of Litigation, Section of Business Law and Torts, Trial and Insurance Practice Section. He is also a member of the ABA's Committee on Business and Corporate Litigation, a division of the Section of Business Law, as well as a member of the subcommittees on Business Torts, Corporate Counseling and Litigation, and Intellectual Property Litigation.
Mr. Loosvelt is a member of the Duane Morris Trial Practice Group, International Law Group, Construction Law Group, and Insurance Law Group, and serves as the co-chair of Duane Morris Associates' Committee and as Duane Morris' Las Vegas pro bono local coordinator.
Mr. Loosvelt is a 2003 graduate of the University of San Diego School of Law and a graduate of the University of Michigan. He also studied international law at the Barcelona Institute of International and Comparative Law in 2001.
