Susan Mullen is special counsel to the Real Estate practice group and a member of the Cooley Godward Kronish Business department. She joined the Firm in 2000 and is resident in the Reston office.
Ms. Mullen is a transactional commercial real estate attorney. Her areas of expertise include the acquisition, disposition, financing, leasing, and management of office buildings, assisted living facilities, and retail shopping centers.
Ms. Mullen also has extensive experience servicing the real estate needs of the Northern Virginia technology community. She has represented clients in build-to-suit leases for collocation campuses, commercial office and building leases for nodes and switches facilities and collocation facilities, the acquisition and development of data centers, as well as the negotiation of headquarters office leases for a number of internet and telecommunications companies.
Prior to joining Cooley, she was a partner in the commercial real estate department at McGuireWoods LLP in Tysons Corner, Virginia. Previously, she was an associate at Watt, Tieder & Hoffar in McLean, Virginia, and Smith, Gambrell & Russel in Atlanta, Georgia.
Ms. Mullen received a J.D. from the University of Virginia in 1988. She received a B.A. in English from Duke University,magna cum laude, in 1985.
Ms. Mullen is admitted to practice in Virginia and Georgia. She is a member of the Virginia Bar Association and the Georgia Bar Association.
