His non-litigation practice focuses on regulatory compliance, permitting, and administrative law, as well as counseling clients on energy, takings, and environmental quality review aspects of land use decisions and approvals. John has helped obtain, modify and renew permits under state and local programs governing energy facility siting, air, stormwater, solid waste, and wetlands development. John’s compliance counseling addresses the handling, transport, and disposal of hazardous materials, as well as compliance with air, water, and solid waste permits. He also has drafted, revised, and negotiated a wide range of contracts related to asset and property acquisitions, environmental services, construction, and cleanup cost allocation matters.
John received his J.D. (magna cum laude) with an Environmental Law Certificate in 2003 from Pace University School of Law, and was awarded the White Plains Bar Association's Environmental Law Scholar Award. While in law school, John worked in Pace's Environmental Litigation Clinic, representing numerous non-profit organizations in state and federal environmental litigation under the Clean Water Act and New York's Environmental Quality Review Act. John also worked for a major pharmaceutical firm while in law school.
Before entering law school, John served in the U.S. Peace Corps in the Republic of Moldova, where he was an Associate Professor of English at the state university.
